To Be Continued...

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV)

Now that the shouting, singing, declaring, decreeing, agreeing, and dancing are over, now what?

Now that you have checked the box next to "church" on  your do-list, have you already rushed on to the next thing?

Now that the Sunday Morning "show" has ended, will you just go back to your regularly scheduled programming?

Now that nobody else is looking, and you can take off the mask, will you allow fear, depression, guilt, and shame to keep you in bondage?

Are you already dreading the upcoming week, because you have to go back to the job that you do not necessarily enjoy, and work with people that you have not yet figured out how to love?

How will you keep the flame of the Holy Spirit burning on the inside of you as you go throughout your week? I believe 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 gives us the answer. We must continue to rejoice, continue to pray, and give thanks in all things. Not just when things go our way, but in all things. Rejoice because you still have breath in your lungs. Continue to pray, as a sign of your hope and faith in God. Give thanks even when it feels like things are slipping through your fingers, and being taken away.

Do not allow the enemy to put out the fire of God within you because the cares of this world. You must be intentional about creating an atmosphere of praise, worship, and thanksgiving every day of the week, not just on Sunday. Wake up to your favorite worship song. Pray while you are on your way to work. Give God thanks for allowing you to see another day. You do not have to wait until to get to church in order to experience God. You are the church! So that means that wherever you go, the church goes with you.

Be intentional about keeping the flame of the Holy Spirit alive in you throughout this week. You do that by keeping your eyes, heart, and mind set on the Lord. Do not be derailed, deterred, and denied by the many distractions of this world. The Lord wants you to experience Him each and every day, not just on Sundays. Let's commit to keeping the party going this week. You'll be glad that you did!

Have a great week!
