Worship, Don't Worry

"Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" Matthew 6:27

I don't know about you, but I am a Type A person that loves details, and does not like surprises. But let's face it, sometimes life has a way of catching us by surprise, which can create some anxiety if the issue is not resolved quickly, or we simply cannot see a solution. Before you know it worry has crept into your heart, you have lost your focus, and your soul has become downcast.

While none of us can predict every scenario or event that will take place this week, we can prepare for how we will react if/when we are caught off guard, and things do not go as planned. You must understand that it is not God's will for you to be worried, distracted, afraid, or depressed by anything. While you may be surprised, God is not. He is always more than a few steps ahead of you.  If God could see the problem coming, that means that He already has a solution prepared for you, being the loving Father that He is.

As you go throughout your week, when you are tempted to worry, become frustrated, or fearful, posture yourself in a position of worship. Declare the goodness of the Lord, thank God in advance for the outcome, and praise Him for who He is. Not only will you feel better, but you will confuse the enemy! It is only in the presence of God where you can exchange your problems for positive proclamations, promises, and praise.

Don't worry. You do not need to have all of the answers or try to figure things out on your own. Your Heavenly Father has already worked it out. Trust Him to guide your steps, cast your cares onto Him, and guard your peace as much as it depends on you. Worrying will not gain you anything positive, but it will cost you. Refuse to give in to worry and rob yourself of the opportunity to see God move in your life, and make the devil mad.

Pick a song, a scripture, sermon, etc. to have on deck as you go throughout your week. Take those thoughts, anxieties, and cares captive, and trade them in for the joy of the Lord. You'll be glad that you did! I pray that you have a peaceful and worry-free week, in Jesus' name!

Peace and Blessings!
